Boone Hall Plantation
The antebellum era plantation is located in Mount Pleasant. 1681 it was founded by Englishman Major John Boone.
Boone Hall Plantation is one of America’s oldest working plantations, continually growing crops for over 320 years.
The planation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The plantation includes a large Colonial Revival plantation house that replaced the lost original house form the 17 centuries.
A number of slaves cabins several flower gardens, and the historic “Avenue of Oaks”, which is over a kilometer along the entry drive up to the house, planted with 44 southern live oaks on either side.
The house and area are open to the public by guiding tours.
The slave cabins are to discover by a self-guided tour. In each cabin there is a pictorial blackboard, which lot of info’s from the former days.
