Oak Alley Plantation
Oak Alley Plantation is a historic plantation on the west bank of the Mississippi River, in Vacherie, St. James Parish, Louisiana. The plantation is known for its long avenue.
A double row of Virginia oaks of about 240 meters in length were planted in the early 18th century, long before the present house was built by slaves.
The Oak Alley runs between the house and the river. The property has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.
