Pillsbury A Mill

The Pillsbury A Mill, located near the Saint Anthony Falls on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, was for more than forty years the largest flour mill in the world.
Completed in 1881 and owned by Pillsbury, it ran two of the most powerful direct-drive mill wheels ever built. Each had an output of 895 kW (1200 horsepower). The mill is still on the east bank of the Mississippi River, but stopped operating in 2003.
