In 1947 Hillary and Mary Brightwell built the Rest Haven they lived on site and operated the motel until their retirement in 1979.
Back than it was called the Rest Haven Motor Court and originally consisted of four separate rocked cottages, containing two rooms each, with the Brightwell Philips 66 gas station out front.
Later in the 50s, the gas station was closed. In the 60s a swimming pool was added and more rooms were added.
Today the Rest Have is still open and offers rooms from 40$.
The nice neon sign is illuminated every night and is a very good fotospot.
