Buffalo Bill Monument

In 1868 some men made a living as buffalo hunters. The people called tow man “Buffalo Bill”. William F Cody and William Comstock.
To determine who would be the real “Buffalo Bill” a wager was made. A contest was staged west of Oakley in Logan County, Kansas. William F. Cody won with 69 to 46. At this day the legend Buffalo Bill was born.
To honor the man the cultural center and statue was bulit in Oakley , KS.

The bronze statue is one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas.
