Michigan Central Station - Detroit

The Michigan Central Railroad Station was designed by the same architects of New York’s Grand Central Station.
It faces Roosevelt Park.

This imposing building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The entire station was shut down 1988, after the facility had become too expensive to maintain. The central station was closed as well.

in June 2018 it was announced that Ford Motor Company will use the former station as a new Detroit mobility campus.
Today (2019) the construction is going on. It should be ready in 2022.

It’s best to park at Michigan Ave, then walk through Roosevelt Park. At noon the Sun is behind the building.
