Santa Rosa is a city on Route 66 with approx. 2.600 inhabitants
The small town is located between Albuquerque and Tucumcari, on the Pecos River.
Don Celso Baca founder of the city named it after his mother, Saint Rosa of Lima, in 1890 the name of the city before Aqua Negra Chiquita
Santa Rosa has an unusually large number of natural lakes for the desert climate, which earned the city the nickname “City by the Lakes”.
