Handless Jacques - Marblehead, Ohio
Jacques, about 6 meters tall, he is not a Muffler Man.
Jacques, like most relatives of the Muffler Men, is also made of fiberglass.
In the early 1970s, Jacques was transported to Marblehead after spending years in Marion, OH, as an advertising character for “Jacques Sandwich Shoppe”, a fast food deli restaurant.
In 1970 the restaurant was closed after a fire. Jacques stayed in the front yard of the closed restaurant, surrounded by weeds, before being loaded onto a platform truck and taken to Marblehead.
The reason why Jacques has no hands is the consequence of this transport. As an advertising figure for the restaurant, he carried a tray with a huge sandwich on it, this was a unit with his hands, it was replaced by a sign. But he no longer carries the sign either. So, he is now handless.
