Hackberry General Store
The Hackberry General Store was originally owned and operated by the artist Bob Waldmire. He traveled the Route 66 in his orange 1972 Volkswagen Bus.
The famous store with an old gas station in front is a frequent stop for travelers of old 66.
On the property you have a lot of photo opportunities. Besides a rustic storefront, lots of tin-can billboards, nostalgic gas pumps, old cars, old land machines. Hackberry is a treasure for every Route 66 Fan.
A few years ago, the owner has changed. With this change some to the famous signs and cars were sold. But still worth a stop.
Please take your time and visit the café and the store. You’ll may find a nice gift or souvenir.
The restrooms are worth a view.
