Frontier Motel & Café
Ray and Mildred Barker purchased the Frontier Motel & Café formerly known as Truxton Café in 1957. Ray died in 1990. The Café closed shortly before Mildred’s death in 2012, but the motel continued operating until the change in ownership.
The newly New Zeeland based owner Sam Murray bought the property in 2013 and he had plans to open the Café and motel.
He rented the Frontier Café out to Alan and Stacy; we met the nice couple in September 2014. They tried to renovate, and to rebuild the location as it was before. Unfortunate there were some problems so the two gave up.
Today, 2019, the Frontier Motel & Café is abandoned. I don’t know of any plans to reopen.
