Owens Valley Radio Observatory - Big Pine

The Owens Valley Radio Observatory is operated by the Astronomy department of the California Institute of Technology. It is the largest university-operated radio observatories in the world.

The locals call it ‘The Big Ears’. The observatory is located near Big Pine California, approximately 250 miles north of Los Angeles on the east side of the Sierra Nevada.

The Observatory is on private property, if you want to take pictures you need a tele lens.
