Tuscarora Ghost Town
Tuscarora was founded after an expedition by trader William Heath to find gold. The name came from the Tuscarora people.
As miners flowed to the town, the miners built a fort to offer protection from Indian raids Besides a water ditch was created to supply the town with water.
A lot of Chinese men who had been employed by the Central Pacific Railroad dragged to the town and began mining. A boom began after they found silver ore. A post office was established at Tuscarora in 1871.
Today Tuscarora is a ghost town, but there are some people living there.
The leftovers from the mine are some ruins and a chimney.
You can find a junkyard with rusty cars and a cemetery.
